PALS - Production and Labour Scheduler is a production management tool developed with the assistance of Production Manager to efficiently Plan, Schedule and Manage Factory Workflow as well as their staff “Resources”. It is a tool that assists Factory Managers change Production priorities with minimal disruption to work flow. Originally designed for Window and Door manufacturing companies, it can be used in a number of industries.

A few key features are:

  1. Ability to define your own Production processes and Factory Resources.
  2. Automatic and Manual job allocation to fully utilize available factory resources. Job progress information is collected and the forward production schedule is automatically updated based on feedback.
  3. Facilitates automatic Job Imports from V6 (and other Estimation software). Can also work as a stand-alone application but benefits significantly from labour data importation.
  4. Simple, easy to use and configure with self explanatory menus.
  5. Excellent ‘drag and drop’ functionality for most features helps to save Manager’s administrative time.
  6. Creates a flowchart of Work types showing the sequence of their execution.

  7. Time lag between various tasks can easily be defined. PALS considers this time when allocating/scheduling a job.

  8. Schedule board provides a quick overview of daily Job allocation and an estimation of time/capacity still available.

  9. Detailed production board may be used as a planning/estimating tool by Sales Staff. It provides details of available factory working hours, overtime capacity with existing estimations and allocations.

  10. Presents all important company data on one dashboard.

  11. Workers can easily update production status using the PALS Worker module. Mangers may choose to show or hide the estimated duration of the task from workers.

  12. Can seamlessly operate under multiple factories (locations) scenarios using remote access, e.g. Terminal Services.
  13. A variety of easily customizable reports such as Job Schedule, Job Statistics etc. along with comprehensive performance reports to provide detailed worker statistics. A great tool for worker performance management.

  14. Upon completion Jobs can be archived. Search functionality can be used to retrieve archived jobs or search for open Jobs.

  15. Reminders can be setup for each Job and Warning messages can be prompted for all overdue tasks.
  16. Ability to define a work calendar hierarchy for each factory, worker and thus manage workers attendance, overtime and scheduled or unscheduled leaves.

  17. Ability to re-allocate/re-schedule a job due to worker unavailability or other higher priority job. A Job’s priority of a Job can be changed by an authorized person to ensure resources are allocated to it ahead of lower priority Jobs.
  18. Records both estimated time and the actual time spent by the worker on a Job; this helps in calculation of worker productivity.

  2. Uses MS SQL as the database server and is compatible with SQL 2000 and higher. It is also compatible with other SQL-based database engines, e.g. Oracle.
  3. Can easily integrate with other third party software to extract job Labour data.
